Percy to the Whitsundays

We left Percy for the Whitsundays, planning two short hops with island stops along the way. We had a 10 hour sail to Scawfell Island, got around the corner to Refuge Bay and who should be parked there but Andiamo!. It was dark when we arrived, we dropped anchor and radioed our hellos with an intention to meet up somewhere in the Whitsundays. Our next stop was Lindeman Island.

As we sailed along we'd notice great swathes of a reddish brown, fine, dusty "stuff", sometimes a bit of seaweed or cuttle fish shell amongst it. I still don't know what it is but it seems to be organic, possibly a seaweed or maybe it's a sediment. I'll have to get an answer as to what it is.

Plumes of red stuff in the otherwise blue water

Lots of rocks to watch out for along the way
